Edmonton police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man connected to an attempted robbery of an iPhone during a Kijiji sale in March.

At around 7:20 p.m., on March 11, an unknown man made arrangements online to buy an iPhone listed for sale on Kijiji. The male seller and the suspect agreed to meet in the area of 97 Street and 118 Avenue, police said in a news release Wednesday.

Police said the suspect arrived, spoke to the seller then began assaulting the seller in an attempt to steal the phone. The suspect fled the scene but did not take the phone.

The suspect is believed to be in his late teens to early 20s with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of the alleged assault, he was wearing a brown coloured jacket.
