Edmonton police are investigating the first homicide of the year after a 21-year-old man died in hospital following a reported assault. 

Police responded to a call at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in south Edmonton.

Officers found Darrian Trevino-Sabourin in critical condition in a suite near 103 Street and 45 Avenue.

He died in hospital at around 6:30 p.m. that evening.

An autopsy Thursday found that Trevino-Sabourin suffered multiple stab wounds. 

Police don’t have a suspect in custody.
