Suspect charged with kidnapping after pickup stolen with passenger still inside

The 46-year-old passenger was sitting in the running truck at the Meadowlark Health and Shopping Centre, 15830 87 Ave., around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle was stolen. Stony Plain RCMP found the vehicle, a 1977 Chevy Silverado, and arrested a suspect at about 4:45 p.m. The passenger was found unharmed about 10 blocks away from the mall about 25 minutes later. Brandon Salteaux, 24, is charged with kidnapping, theft of a motor vehicle and assault. |
