爱城北部房子发生火灾，幸无人员伤亡

Four people have been displaced after a fire broke out in the basement of a home in Edmonton’s Alberta Avenue neighbourhood on Monday. Fire crews were called to the single family home near 120 Avenue and 95 Street shortly after 9 a.m. “There was a lot of material in the house at the time and it hampered firefighters getting in to get at the scene of the fire right away,” district chief Mike Westfall said. The occupants of the home — three males and one female, who Westfall said looked to be in their early 30s — were safely out of the home before firefighters arrived. Westfall did not know the whereabouts of the three cats that reside in the home. Thirty-two firefighters and six trucks responded to the fire, temporarily closing down a residential section of 95 Street between 120 Avenue and 121 Avenue. Fire investigators were at the home late Monday morning. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage to the home have yet to be determined. |
