  A man who took a can of bear spray out of the liquids disposal container and sprayed himself forced an evacuation of the Edmonton International Airport on Saturday evening. The north terminal of the airport was closed down around 8:20 p.m. following the incident. Investigators found a man coming out of a washroom suffering the effects of the bear spray, according to a news release from RCMP. After speaking with the man and looking at security footage, investigators determined the man found the can of bear spray in the liquids disposal receptacle at the check-in area. While in the waiting area, the man released the spray on himself and in the air. The section of the airport was evacuated and police said four people were exposed to the bear spray. RCMP do not believe the incident was criminal and said no charges will be laid. |
